Idioms

I've been on cloud nine all day.

A stitch in time saves nine.

Actions speak louder than words.

Blood is thicker than water.

Don't cry before you are hurt.

It takes all sorts to make a world.

It's the last straw that breaks the camel's back.

No pain, no gain.

Politeness costs nothing.

Van Gogh's ear for music.

You can't teach an old dog new tricks.

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

...

Now it's your turn to write one more!

Milkman

A milkman

A milkman is a person who sells or delivers milk. It's not very common to meet them her in Spain, but in some countries it's easier. They usually deliver milk in the morning and it is not uncommon for milkmen to deliver products other than milk such as eggs, cream, cheese, butter or yogurt.
A long time ago milkmen needed to deliver milk to houses daily, since not many people had fridges at home. Nowadays everybody has a fridge and milk lasts longer with the improved packaging. So it has decreased the need for frequent milk delivery.
The milkman can deliver the milk without entering the home, and the resident does not need to go to the shop, so they can have fresh milk daily at home. But it's more complicated to do it in cities than in little towns or small neighbourhoods.
